For some reason my computer just decided a week ago that it didnt want to shut down. I am running Windows Me and it has been running without any problems for weeks. All of a sudden one night when i press shut down it starts to shut down and the monitor goes black and all but then it just sits there with a blank screen. After a few seconds it restarts itself. The last program installed was SETI before this started happening. Mabey it is causing this? I hope someone has the same problems or a cure 🙂

My Specs:
Athlon 700@750
Asus K7M
192mb memory
Leadtek GeForce 2 gts 32mb
Sound Blaster Live XGamer

Well im pretty sure its not SETI because i alt ctrl delete and close everything except explore and it still wont shutdown. I guess i will reinstall WinMe. I have version 2.04 of SETI.

Well i sat a thought what the hell was the problem and finally i found out that it was my USB. I had just turned it on in my bios and this shutdown problem started after that. When i disable USB in the bios then my computer shuts down. Well i figured how to have usb enabled without problems. I went in the USB properties and put a check in Disable USB error detection and now it works fine. Lucky guess 🙂
