my computer wont come on PLEASE HELP!

My computer wont come on at all...It does nothing...I made sure that all the cords are plugged in right....I think its the power supply but Im not sure....can someone please help me? :frown:

umm...

if you're sure it's plugged in, and all switches are turned on and the power outlet works, and you're not getting any power at all, it's one of two problems --

power supply (most likely)
motherboard.

Either way, you'll have to get it replaced. Especially with the power supply, this is something you can do yourself if you're comfortable working inside the computer.

While it is most likely not getting power (because of a bad PSU or surge strip or wall plug) there are more considirations then just that and the mother board. If any of the components are not 100% in then it is possible that the PC will not power up. I have had this happen to me a few times when messing with computers. What I would suggest if the normal make sure you are getting power stuff doesnt work is to remove everything from the motherboard save for the processor (and if you feel enterpriseing take the processor out too) and try and turn it on. Add a component at a time and try again after that. Also if you have a motherboard with a light on it (many new ones have them) is that light coming on, if not then you aren't getting power at all.
