Hey guys, I have a gigabyte sinxp1394 motherboard and lately its been pretty stable at stock speeds which is 2.4ghz. Today after class I turned it on like usual and for some reason its not botting now. I did notice that one of my ddr sticks was fried when i opened it up but the other stick which is a hyper x 512 pc2700 is still fine, at least on the surface. Anyway when I turn on my system, there is no video, all fans work, my cdr drive keeps flashing though and I can't open the drive, my ram led is on, the hard drive seems to be fine. I have no clue whats wrong with it, its pissing me off since I just got this new mobo. Any help will be appreciated. I looked everywhere to see if there are any other components that have overheated and fried but all I can see is the stick of ram. I checked the processor and it seems to be fine. please help!

I would start with the basics again. Motherboard, RAM, CPU, everything is disconnected and pulled out. I would also try to test the componets in another computer if possible to see if they are OK, including the power supply. Do a good reset on the CMOS, jumper it, unplug power cord from computer, and pull the battery out for 30 minutes or so. See if it'll boot up that away.

thanks for the help but I figured it out, one of my sticks the cheaper slower one died and so the cmos cleared itself and set all the timings back to oem, which made the ram timings on auto which made my hyperx stick not work, so I did the use an old slow ram, which I did, a pc2100 stick and now everything works. phew, thought something really bad happened.
