My computer won't boot up!!! HELP!!!

I know this isn't really off-topic, but I didn't know where to put it, so I posted it where it would get the most views in hope that someone can help me...

So I was just doing regular stuff on my computer, winamp, ie, etc etc...when it kinda died out...like a power down kinda sound...except it never really powered down...
the fans were all running, all the necessary lights were on, but nothing was getting to the monitor...

so I tried resetting it, turning it on and off, and the same thing would happen. I get the power up noise, the lights, the fans, the noises from the HDD - but no boot up screen...I don't even get the ram check or bios screen...

it boots up once every 30 times i turn it on/off, and the difference is the PC speaker beep...it beeps when it boots, but when it doesn't it doesn't beep at all...

another strange thing is that ever since the first power down or error or whatever it was, my little temperature gauge on the face of the case would not show any displays...I thought maybe the wire came loose from the cpu compartment but that wasn't it...

I'm on the fry's bundle...
2200+ and the k7s5a pro...generic ram...
it had problems of random restarts before, but apparently that was expected from my specific setup...
but now it won't even boot...

any ideas what i need to do/replace?

I tried clearing the cmos battery, reseating everything, etc...

my vid card is GF4 mx440

my guess is that i might need a new motherboard, but not sure...

Bad PSU - it just iced your motherboard and AGP card. Maybe more. Spend some money on it next time.

what do you mean by "iced"...

and does that mean i need a new vid card too or just replacing the mobo is fine?

That's a given. Random reboots are a sign of a bad PSU, which often culminates in the zapping of your motherboard (And any other item on the flakey voltages) with somthing horribly out of spec, killing it. REPLACE THE POWER SUPPLY.

Get a better power supply and test your motherboard with that. Also, your generic memory could have died.

It could also be that a spider or something (even just a bunch of dust) has made your computer home. Clean it out thoroughly and try again.
