It jsut happened!!! on "initializing and downlaoding"

Does the temperature in your room fluctuate alot? when the summer came, the temp of my CPU went up by about 5 degrees celcius. Which I know helped attribute to lockups alot until I bumped the speed down a bit.

might be happening for you too. Kinda sounds like it.

Win2k may be the problem too.

I have never had luck with gaming systems running win2k.

WinME has always treated me good and never freezes (At least not near as much as a win2k OS installed)

Stop overclocking it. You aren't seeing that much of a benefit with a 15% overclock, anyway. Do you have good case cooling because AMD's give off a lot of heat, especially when oc'ed. ? I would also check power supply, is it AMD approved and at least 300 watts? Those are the first things that come to mind.

Win2k games just fine for me. I prefer it over XP actually.

Lockups during games are usually caused by one of two things: (1) overheating or otherwise unstable cpu or (2) ram timing errors, either from failing or overheating ram, overly aggressive ram timing settings, or motherboard/BIOS design problems.

You should (in this order until problem solved):
- Return your cpu to default speed. As the highest OC you've gotten is only 1.15G, I'm assuming that either you have an early Austin fab stepping (which sucked for OC'ing) or you never unlocked your cpu and your OC has been limited by your ram. Either way, clocking down when your system is unstable is the smart move. IMNSHO, an unstable OC is not a real OC.
- Update all drivers to latest versions, including Windows Updates (got SP3 yet?).
- Flash your mobo to the latest BIOS update (if available).
- Adjust ram timings in your BIOS to slower settings.
- And if all that fails to help, buy a new stick of ram.
