My computer not "reading" a new HD (Win XP)

Hi guys,

I'm sure you brilliant techies can help me out. I've recently designed a new rig. One of the components was a WD 250 gig SATA HD.

I'm running Windows XP SP2 straight off of my old HDD. No problems with it. However, while XP sees the new HD and reads it, I can't well, access it through My Computer or any explorer program. How do I designate a drive for it? (E.g. C: usually the primary HDD, d:, etc)

Thanks for any help!

Go to Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Disk Manager so you can assign a letter to it, format and partition it.
