my computer keeps typing alone

hello, I wonder what might be the solution to my problem.
when I start my pc, then click start menu my conputer just keeps on typing on the search box.. the cursor keeps moving forward. I did a full virus scan and restore but it didn't solve my issue. the only thing I have in mind is reinstall windows but that would be a whole boring day reinstalling. thank you
 
yes I tried, my cousins laptop also has the same problem. he even bought a new external keyboard but the issue doesn't solve
 
Other than uninstalling you can take your hdd to you friend who hopefully has a competent av/is.

I'd suggest you first run ComboFix to get rid of any nasties that may be present. Next, perform an in-place upgrade (also known as a repair installation) of Windows 7 which will take about 30-40 minutes. You won't lose any data or have to reinstall all your programs, and this procedure will correct all problems by completely restoring Windows to the same state that a clean installation would achieve:

Hook up another KB. Sounds as if something is stuck in the one you're using. Your system is not your cousin's system.....so that that may not have been his issue, does not mean it may not be yours.

I had that happen on a laptop. It still had the stuck key with the keyboard removed. I formatted and hooked up a USB keyboard and it still did it. I had to sell it for parts.
 
Same here, odd characters would sometime appear for no reason. It was a Dell lappy under contract, the guy came out, replaced the keyboard and it still did it but not as often.
 
I don't have this problem but for me I notice that the cursor will jump back, so when I type it messes up the previous text. Very annoying. I have scanned the computer with Malwarbytes, Hijackthis, TDSSkiller and Rkill. I use Noscript, Comodo Firewall and Bitdefender free. I don't think it's a virus it has to be something I'm hiting or something.

Hi, John:

I would suggest trying two things:

1) try hooking up another mouse.

2) Go into Mouse Properties>pointer options and check "hide pointer while typing."

But it feels like something mechanical to me. In troubleshooting, I always try the simplest, most logical things first.

I should have mentioned it's a laptop. I don't know if hiding the pointer will help it's the cursor.

Edit- just looked at the mouse properties and hide the pointer was on already.

Hi again, John.

I think troubleshooting problems is just part of life. I guess I try to learn the most obvious things to try first. I am sorry you are having this annoying problem.

Are you using a USB mouse or your touchpad? Or wireless?

If USB, I might unplug the mouse and see if things are normal using your touchpad. If you are having the issue using your touchpad, I would hook up a USB mouse. And I would hook up as many mice as you may have. If you have an empty USB port, I would try your mice in more than one.

I can only say what I would do were I having the problem you are.
Odd cursor movements are a reflection of something underlying. But it need not be anything terrible. It really might be something very simple.

I have never had such kind of problems yet, but it does not seem like being virus. As for me it is some kind of mechanical problems with your mouse. Do not reinstall the system at once, try to find out what problem is.

Please report back when you have tried everything!!! I could no way endure this problem for 7 minutes running.

I need to know what this is....hopefully, soon WAS.

I can't even function unless I have all my left handed, RIGHT-LEANING cursors installed.

Edit: my take still, is that this is something mechanical. a stuck spring, something like that. It in no way feels like an infection to me.

When someone dropped something on my Alienware lappy KB....and I hadda get a new one, and, OMG was it EXPENSIVE....ONLY THEN, did I see how incredibly sleazoid, lappy KBs are! How CHEAPLY MADE. But the repair took no time, made me nervous, but was a no brainer.....and I never had any problem, forget this kind. I yes, also took pics.
