you should hear mine... its insane. If i leave the case open at night its so loud it keeps me awake. punching it makes it quite down

Wrong AT forum to really ask the question. Only thing I know is that if the brand of the fan is "Delta", you'll probably want to remove it and get something else. Look for some of the many fan/heatsink combo reviews around.

Panaflo L1A's 80mm case fans.. do a search in hot deals for "panaflo" and should list places to get them.

Mine can be heard through 3 walls and several doors, while the shower is running.

Oh wait... That was cause I had forgotten to turn the sound down while Wolfenstein was trying to connect to a server. Neighbours must love me, loud explosions, gunfire and shouting in German for 45 minutes while I took a shower :eek: Ah well, no one complained, or at least I didn't hear it :)

this subject has been beaten to death over in cases and cooling. Do a search over there for "quiet" :)

i had this fan for my athlon it was a volcano 6cu+ and it sounded like a hairdryer. i eventually got a slower fan . i was much happier
