My computer is too good for CS?

I bought a computer for my brother from dell. While he plays CS he gets a blue screen error that says its dumping the memory.

Dell told me that the game doesnt meet the computer requirements. That the game cant be played on the computer.

He has a
P4 3.06
1 gig memory
120gig HD
128mb radeon w/dvi

Does that make sense? Im starting to get annoyed with dell, and im about to return the damn thing at the end of this week. To me it seems like a bad memory stick.

Could be anything. Bad drivers, bad memory, ... ??

They said it's too good for the game?

That's a load of crap.

EDIT: What OS are you running and what does the blue screen say?

So bsod and other bad things = great computer, hummmm never thought of it that way. Maybe with a dell i can understand.

Sounds like a bad mem stick to me also. Just pull them out and try them individually until the error stops.

hes running xp pro. I thought that maybe was it, but i got xp pro in my house on all computers and CS runs fine.

The screen says beginning physical dump of memory then he needs to restart.

then when he restarts this is the error message he gets when XP says there was a system error:
BC code😀1
bcp1:00000000
bcp2:00000002
bcp4:e237806f
osver:5_1_2600
sp:1_0
product:256_1

Yeah, they are definitely on crack.

The only time this might be true is if you were trying to play an old DOS or Win 95 game on a Win XP box.
But CS should work just fine on XP.
It does sound like a hardware problem.
But you might try running it in Win 98 compatibility mode.

yea dell sucks. never again. they took over 2 weeks to get me the computer, then didnt send the lcd. That took another week. Then after spending all this money, they tell me they cant send a tech to look at it till they troubleshoot it. And their idea of troubleshooting is to tell me i bought too good of a computer to play a game. So i guess their solution is to return it and spend less on a not as "good" computer.

From now on i build all my PC's. This way its my problem, and i dont have to call 800 numbers.

any machine is too good for cs.
still trying to figure out why there are so many tards that think that is a great game?
it was an ok game when it was new, but it got stomped by many other games shotly thereafter.
