I don't know this person at all if he bought his copy of XP pro microsoft well help him, if he did not buy his copy which I have know way of knowing, but if he didn't buy and is not regestered owner I hope his troubles multiply, I know lots of people out there have loaded XP with out buying because some asshole found a way around the activation, now these people to me are nothing more than common thievies and I have zero compassion for them, now can a state my position any clearer than that, a relative of mine bought my old pc cheap, i would not give him the XP pro with it i wanted $50 dollars for it, i normally would have installed a new harddrive but he didn't want to spend the money so i reformated the drive and left it blank, he said a friend would install XP pro for $20, I asked if he was getting the disk he said no, so I asked how he was going to activate it, he said his friend new how to disable that feature, so after they were all done I went over to his house and by god the activation feature was deactivated , 1 month goes buy its my relative, my pc barely runs I can't move around the web this sucks he says you sold me a bad pc, so after a very heated argument about the problem I told him to have his friend fix it, his friend says its a hardware problem , well it got real hot real fast I was pissed, so I left 1 week later he calls me back and ask if I would please help, I said I would only if he buys the copy of xp that was used with that pc, he said he would if I could prove that its not a hardware problem, so I grab the copy of xp pro and I go over there, i told him to leave the room so that I could look at his processes, I open it up and there it is bigger than life the none existant process, I disable the process i call him back in all this took 30 seconds , i said i was done he starts laughing at me , i said try your pc so he does after about a min. he turns and looks at me in complete amazement, how and what did u do i said i tell you but than i'd have to kill ya, he laughed i laughed gave me a big old hug, than i said that was the easy part, now you have to call microsoft he squirmed and uttered some foul language and asked why, i told him i could not just reformate, the problem would still be there so he finerly gave in, after about an hour on the phone the tech finely asked to talk to me, he asked what i did i told him he asked how i got that information and i said i couldn't tell him , reason being i got the info from another microsoft tech, he finely asked if my relative would leave the room and he trusted me, so he directed me to a site i loaded what i was suppose to , and reactivated the process and killed it , with the download i just installed, than i reformated the the harddrive installed the legal copy XP pro and activated by phone so we could register that copy in his name ... so my ans. is this don't ask me to help thieves cause it ain't happening

TROLL!!!

Zinn2b, your posts make absolutely no sense! I mean..even a 1st grade with an IQ of 50 could make a better post.

-Zinn2b, by any chance do you happen to know the name of this 'process' you keep mentioning? And what the crap is this 'pc pitstop'????

...I open it up and there it is bigger than life the none existant process, I disable the process i call him back in all this took 30 seconds...

-anyways i believe we went off the topic. I'd say check your hardware, could be faulty RAM/Harddrive though it could be something else. Also some system specs would be nice.

Not 1 of these people not 1 including yours truely included the price of OS and after thinking about it .It occured to me that I have read many of these post and it seems to me that maybe 1out of 50 such post include the price of the OS now I don't care how many pc's a person has but you need a bought and paid for OS for each PC you own and if you disagree you and I are a completely differant class of people and I am going to get bashed for it but I am in the right were are you???????

Zinn2b's entire dissertation here is based on the obtuse assumption that the original poster has an illegal copy of WinXP(which is quite insulting).
Now he is off on an irrelevant discourse about how someone in another thread must be planning on installing an illegal copy of an OS because they did not include the cost of the OS in thier computer costs.

Lastly, I believe he is getting into religion calling us a bunch of heathen.

Zinn2b, do yourself and all of us a favor maybe and keep your posts limited to "off topic".

Perhaps a Moderator can offer some relief and send this guy a message and/or lock this thread.

Feeble mind, indeed... At any rate, whatever post you are talking about now, problaby is like 99% of all the other "Help me build a computer for x dollars or less" posts. They post a budget for their hardware, not software. They may already have Windows, they may want to use Linux. We don't count the costs of games in the threads either. Or any other applications for that matter. If you want to do that, they would ask for help buying a Dell.

I'm going to say Off Topic is a good place for you to post as well. Maybe after a time-out. Your baseless assumptions and accusations make you look stupid and don't help endear yourself. Insulting everyone around here with your ohter general comments doesn't help either. Further, I reiterate that your complete lack of any solid, actionable information in regards to the OP's question further cements your status as someone we can't take seriously. That and your disjointed, nonsensical diatribes don't help either.

Never ever did I imply that the man was running an illeagal copy of XP Pro. All I said was I don't know if he has a legal copy of XP pro. I do support microsofts position on OS theft therefor. I would not give out the information that a microsoft tech support tech well give to any person that can prove they own there OS. All I did was advise him that I have delt with simular problems and told what I found. I also told him that many pc problems can be traced in a matter of min. at PC Pitstop. Also if you reactivate XP to many times without phone support you can end up with the same problems. So if I insulted the man I am very very sorry.Under zero conditions will I give out to the public a process worm defense that microsoft uses to protect it self from OS thievies and yes sometimes the innocent do get caught up in their OS defense. Caused by loading an OS to many times because of a problem a person had somewhere else. Thats all I stated. I am sure that thousands of people would love to know the name of the process that microsofts OS defense attacks. When a copy of their OS becomes suspect and they have every right to defend themselves in this manner. Think about it if everyone paid for there OS as they should. Than I would know dought be paying less for the copy's I buy. So in effect when you steal an OS you are stealing from persons who get there copy legally. So know I well not tell you how to steal from me.

Microsoft is not about to send a worm out to people they suspect of running an illegal copy of windows.
That's what product activation is for, if it's not activated properly , it will cease to boot. End of story.

The RIAA had investigated the feasibility of sending out bogus mp3 files that would harm the computer of those people trying to obtain illegal music downloads. The RIAA found out that this would not be viewed by the judicial system as a legal means of protecting their property and would open them up to costly damage claims.

The same would be true of microsoft.
Yours is nothing more than a far fetched conspiracy theory.
I'm glad to see that you've put a little more effort into your punctuation though.

Or you could just install Linux. It is free legally for home use (SCO has claimed they will not sue the home user/individual user, so yes free). :)
And! Linux doesn't come with any such "worms" from the company (if any do exist).

First off apples with apples if you have illegal copy of there OS they can protect its there's not yours and if you do not acitvate correctly without contacting them the process releases the defense code. Worm was a bad choice of words by me sorry. and it effectively shuts down the pc . as in the case above not all pc's shut down completely. And thats the facts get over it. Comparing music left to intelical theft is really stupid.......................

You dont even know what you're talking about,IF you have a cracked copy then you dont need to activate it cause it's CRACKED.

And nobody even said it was an illegal copy YOU are the one assuming it is.

Mods isnt it time to lock this thread up?

Of course it is microsoft policy that activation be completed for a WinXP computer to run.

You have been talking all along about some secret worm that you can't tell anyone about or microsoft will get mad at you.
Such ridiculousness.

Oh, and by the way, Mr. high and might god-fearing moralist.

While I'm not one to stand on a moralist soapbox, you brought up the priacy point.
Theft is theft. The music industry is out billions of dollars just like microsoft stands to be due to piracy.

Yea, apologies to KhoiFather for the hyjacked thread.

Way past time for a lock, as well as an unsubscribe to this thread.
Zinn2b, I hope to hell I never run across the likes of you in another thread.

You're taking a bashing because your posts are poorly-written, flame-bait garbage.
