My computer is going to break.

My computer is making a odd sizzling sound now and then, I think it may be a capacitor going out but I looked and they are fine as far as I can see. So since I can't tell what it is and my computer is working fine, I'm going to wait until what ever it is breaks to make it easer to find. (I work on computers all day long five day a week, the last thing I want to do when I get home is fix another computer)

So to make I fun I'm going to add a poll and I want you guys to say when you think what ever it is that is breaking will finally go kaputt!

Radio Shack maybe? possibly an electronic hobby store? you just need to make sure you get the EXACT same kind or you'll just make it worse. and open the case and look. maybe it's just a fan.

if its sizzling toss a hotdog in there...might as well have something to eat when it goes out and you have to fix it..

wish me popped in that hotdog before she went :'(

My computer decided to BSOD 2 times in the matter of 20 minutes on me. I was playing Oblivion the first time, then the second time I opened a browser with AIM and Xfire running behind it.

shamrock: write down the hex error code and go to http://support.microsoft.com

usually you can find a reason...or something close. if not, google is your friend.
Thank you, but I doubt it will be happening again. Its been running stable for the past 3 hours without a BSOD.

My computer was making a high pitched whine off and on for over 4 months. It was even comming through my speakers. I knew it was some kind of electrical problem. Finally I smelt a burning smell comming from the computer and it randomly restarted. It started to boot back into windows then it reset again. I quickly turned off the power. I tried to turn it back on after that but no go. The PSU was toast. Good thing I was there when it happened. Who knows what could have happened if I hadn't been there to turn it off.
