My computer is beeping...what's wrong?

It's a desktop PC. I just installed a new hard drive, but I don't think I did anything wrong. It seems that the one quiet beep is coming every 20 minutes or so.
Is everything working okay?
When you installed the hard drive perhaps you knocked a cable out or something. Might be worth powering down and making sure all the connections are nice and tight.

Heheh...it's Homer. I made sure everything was connected. I think i've got it down to one quiet beep every 15 minutes. This is really bugging me. HELP!
Is your plug and play service started?
The beep may be the system warning sound that would normally come through your speakers, but according to your computer your sound card doesn't exist.

Thats a good idea - also check your event log, perhaps theres something listed in there.
Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Event Viewer.
Plug in play is fine. My sound card is working good, i was listening to music earlier. Now i think the beep is every 10 minutes. It's also pretty quiet. I'm thinking it's the cmos battery on the motherboard...god i hope not...those are a pain in the ass to change.
yeah, I had a DFI ITBD that played classical music through the speaker if there was a problem!!!

I recently installed a 7200 RPM drive and experienced overheating where I never had overheating before. I was able to resolve it by moving the drive up to a bigger drive bay that was empty where you could add a CD-ROM drive. That gave enough air and heat dissipation for the drive. Looks like maybe Hard drives really can no longer be installed in those tiny rack mounts normally reserved for them especially if two drives are in and they are on top of each other, way too much heat.

Hey guys. I moved my new harddrive up to a floppy bay so it could get some space from my other hard drive. I'm still getting that one quiet beep every ten minutes. Anybody have any idea what this is?

No it isn't, I built this PC with the parts I desired. I have the case top off and my room is pretty chilly right now. I've never had a problem with PC temps. Is there any way this beep can be something else?
i was gonna ask if it was a dell too. if you hit a couple keys at the same time it likes to yell at you.
I figured it would be overheating that would cause the beeping, it happened with my old computer and it slowed down a whole lot. Are the temps real hot?
If it sounds like morse code, grab your manual and cross reference the code. Otherwise, check your temp settings and alarm settings.
Of course it could be a small rodent trapped in your pc sending signals to others.
