Hi everyone,

For the last couples of months, my computer have had some kinds of power on problems. Let me explain. The switch works fine and windows always detects it when I press the switch on my case. Alos, when i shut down the computer for a short period of time, it will power on on first shot. However, when leaving the computer off for a certain time, like for the whole night, on the morning it needs serveral pressing of the switch ( from 4 to 12 ) before the computer *finally* starts. I tried using a other switch with no luck, the same problem occur, so now I guess it's a problem with my motherboard ( Abit KG-7):( Anybody ever had a problem like this???

I hope somebody can help and sorry for mybad english

Well i have similar problems but not to the extent that you get. I can start up my computer most of the time but every few times that it works it doesn't start up correctly. So i need to push it again, and rarely it happen when i need to restart it twice or more.

I have not been able to pin down the problem. But i have theories.. My previous computer had the same problem, and when i gave it to my dad and brother it NEVER happened. The same common demoniator was the surge protector. I got like a billion things connected to it. Most likely it is lack of power at start up causeing the computer to not beable to post. That is just my theory.

Yeah... but my computer act as if there was no power at all...very wierd. And it was working juste fine with my surge couple month ago.

I tired to flash the bios, changed the switch etc... but what puzzle me is that it only dosent start on the first time on a "cold start"

that really pisse me off ;P
