My computer hiccups every 1 second...

My computer "skips, ticks, hiccups, stutters" or however you'd like to call it... every second.

The timing is exactly consistent. I don't know if it's exactly one second, but it's the same every time. It's as if it's synced to a timer.

Example: If I move my mouse across the screen in a smooth fashion, you can see it momentarily cease movement every second. Without looking for this specifically, it's not easy to notice.

Example 2: This is more noticeable. While playing _any_ game, you can notice that the frame rate flat out STOPS for a split second, every second. Even if I get 100+ FPS in a game, it still happens. This makes it very hard to aim and move around in many games.

I've closed all the processes that I think might have caused it, but the problem persists... In a few minutes, I'll be posting a screenshot of my task manager, showing all my running processes. Hopefully this will help someone diagnose this problem.

I'm drawing a blank... help :(

Really don't want to reformat....

EDIT: here is a screenshot of my task manager.

download Process Explorer to give us a better view of what is actually running, and also, we'll need detailed hardware info.

detailed, means exact model of Motherboard, cpu, psu, gpu, hdd, ram, etc..

also, I'd check system event viewer to see if any errors are occuring since hardware interrupts and DPC's are running, indicating something is conflicting possibly.

I see you have NOD32 AV installed, I've seen times where AV acting up will cause such issues. Can you give a shot at disabling to see if the problem persists

Does it do it in safe mode also?

And, if you go to START
RUN
type the following: msconfig
STARTUP
what is ticked in that?

Hmmm, the only thing running in your background is Nod and Creative labs drivers. I'd try uninstalling all of your creative sound card drivers and remove that sound card. See if you still get the stuttering. If you don't, then try re-enabling the onboard sound and see if it works ok.

Sounds like crappy creative labs drivers at this point possibly.

^ GOT IT.

Had to remove ALL sound drivers (creative and onboard), then just reinstalled creative's. All is good now.

Thanks guys!
