It first started with my computer not starting Windows. It wouldn't even get the Windows XP loading screen.
I bought another HD, and loaded Windows on the Secondary HD.
The install went okay, the old HD is C (primary on the controller) and the new one is D (secondary).
The problem is that it runs a chkdisk pre-windows loading everytime it starts because the original HD is either hella corrupt or it's physically going south.
I go disconnect the old drive for good. It won't work that way. If it' only the new HD connected, it won't boot, it says its missing the OS. I tried moving it to the primary controller, still no good.
I know this is something basic and essential, I feel like a newb all over again.
Specifics for now (I will edit once I get home and find the manuals)
AMD 3000+ 64XP on a 745 socket
MSI K8T something rather
SATA I raid controller setup with no RAID.
VIA chipset, the number 800 rings a bell.
