my computer crashes when i burn a audio cd (p.s. windowsME post-era)

help. i don't know why my computer crashes everytime i burn on my yamaha CRW4416s scsi burner. i recently encountered this problem after i installed windows millenium. my burner is 3 years old. but its a yamaha. so it's a stud. please help.

does everything freeze or do you get BSOD? if BSOD, what's the error message.
is your ASPI layer installed & up to date?
have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling your burning software?
 
i've tried unstalling and reinstalling but it still freezes. there is no error message, just a the computer compleetely freezing, especially after it starts burning for at least 10 min. its a 4x burner.
