what is a good program to get rid of these things nowadays? I haven't had to deal with this kind of problem in a while, so I don't know what is good on the market. I used to use Adaware to scan and quarentine, but I am not sure if this is effective anymore. And btw, it looks like adaware is not free anymore, you get to download a trial version that don't give you much of the needed functions for problems like this. I got symmetecs antivirus installed, but this thing don't to much for me.

please suggest some free software for me to fix this irriating problem. thanks.

I would recommend Superantispyware or Malwarebytes. Install and then run a full system scan in safe mode.

you also might need a windows cd to boot into recovery console, if malwarebytes isn't able to remove a trojan dll (had to do this at work the other day)

Once you get it squared away, run the Secunia vulnerability checkup on it, and fix what it finds. You might have a vulnerable version of an add-on like Java, QuickTime, Flash, etc that's letting the system be exploited.

I have some other security suggestions linked in my sig if you want to look at some further security steps.

I think Malwarebytes or Superantispyware should get the job done. Good luck!
