My company just announced the annual bonus

In all reality it would be more, but I already figured in my bonus money to get to that figure.

wow, I would have gotten about $2k. My last bonus was a $25 gift card to were I worked. No, that is not a joke. It was an insult, and everyone saw it as that.

Good for you. One of the discussions today at work was the impending announcement of our Profit Sharing payouts.

My employer, American Axle, had $176 million net income this year, $115 million the previous year, payouts last year were about $900. Maybe it'll be about $1500, but these numbers can be fudged any way they want to.

90K may seem like a lot to you young'uns but throw in a mortgage payments, taxes, school tuition for a couple a couple of urchins, etc. and it doesn't go as far as you think.

Yes, because if you buy a new digital camera someone else can feel just as good about themselves for buying one, regardless of the fact that you had the cash and they're yet further in debt. It's all hush-hush! Unless you're one of the chronic hot-dealers!

I am filthy rich, I am a partner for a consulting firm and I make $250k/yr

Well I compare my income to my unemployed friends from college bumming away in Atlantic Canada and thank my lucky blessings. Compared to them I am rich, but still a far cry from $90k or more a year :Q

Oh well easy come easy go. This time next year maybe I'll be back in the 'rents' basement :Q:Q:Q:Q:Q

Actually, $90k doesn't seem like a lot to me, but I'm just surprised that there's someone on these forums who has the time to make a decent wage and at the same time frequent the forums. I'm sure if you plotted time spent on AT vs. annual salary, you'd probably find yourself a nice little inverse correlation...
