Not bad considering I wasn't expecting anything. I've been working a while so it's a decent amount of change.

Meet me up in Rochester, NY and I'll be happy to buy.:)

The weather's great here today too. I think we might actually hit double digit temperatures!

WOOT!!! Extra cash is always nice. This is a cash bonus right, not a profit sharing deal?

Cool, we announced a 4.2% average. Meaning some will get 0%, and some will get 8%. All based on meritocracy.

I've always found that meritocracy is a euphamism for "resting on your laurels"-ocracy.

My companies bonus will be at least 10% if not more. They had their best year ever.

Yup, it's a cash bonus. It's a tradition at my company. In the 20 years I've worked here it's ranged from about 2% - 9%.

I always plow it back into my 401K.

good choice. The company I work for has been between 3-4% since I started there. They just throw it in our 401k automatically. Congrats though, and have a  on me!

sorry i am a college newb, what does 4.3% bonus mean? 4.3% of the companies revenue?
Salary * 1.043 = new salary
That's a raise, a traditional "bonus" is a one time payment of Salary *.043

Riprorin, do your work for Kodak? Didn't realize you lived in Rochester too.
Yup, I'm a Kodaker. Are you at RIT?
Nope, Verizon Wireless. It is a temporary job while I try to finish my masters.

Neat, are you doing your master at U of R?

A friend of mine in Buffalo just quit his job at Verizon. He was selling yellow page ads and his salary went from $130K two years ago to 80K last year even though he was the number 1 seller in the office. He was thinking about leaving and when they offered a sevarance package to go, he grabbed it.

p.s. we'll have to get together at the Distillery sometime!
