My company has like 10 billion in debt, but only nets 600 million per year. Rumors are, my program may be screwed shortly..

previous company i worked for died last year. was totally supported by investors with zero profit. operating costs ran short by $10 million so company blew up.

Last year about this time, my former employer's stock price was around $107/share. Today, it is $22.40 or so. In December, I was downsized and lost my job. So no, I don't work for a broke company because I already had my job eliminated. The company is hurting, though.

Working for a non money loser doesn't necessarily mean anything.
GM are bitching for European governments to bail our their subsidaries (Vauxhall/Saab/Opel) and Opel are saying "We're a money making business!" but GM still want to trim and get a bail out for them.

The uncertain future of GM's European businesses outraged its workers.

"Opel makes a profit, and we had a profit last year as well," said Francisco Jimenez, an Opel worker and IG Metall union official in Ruesselsheim, Germany.

We're actually doing well. We're a national ISP and our dialup products are selling like hotcakes right now. Unfortunately we're getting a lot of cancels on our high speed products to counteract it, but dialup is much more profitable than broadband, so it's a wash.

I guess I am one of the very lucky ones to be working for a profitable company still. Profits are up, outlooks are looking good and the new stimulus plan could positively effect the company as well.

my last company was broke even at the good times because of an identity scandal, now they are really fucked =(

Hmmm.

I think we're doing alright, they want me here more hours, but since I'm an intern I'm cheaper than having a REAL engineer around.
