heres the problem, my computer lasting around a year as suddenly started to turn off on its own but when I look in my tower peice when it turns off it is really still on. I had my music on and the moniter as well, but it randomly turns off and the monitor says "going into energy saver mode, signal and monitor is connected, please check your computer signal." and my music turns off at the same time. but the mother board light is still on and i can still hear my fans and stuff still working like it never shut off. Today it turned off about 3 times. sometimes hourly and sometimes back to back. I tried scan disk, spybot, adaware, panda, to see if there was anything wrong with the computer, and nothing. I was also thinking of defraging but havent yet. I even tried cleaning the insides using a air can. I even let it rest for a day or 2 but still no luck it still randomly turns off. My desktop is a customized one with 1.5 gb ram, 1.83 ghz amd athlon(tm) XP 2500+, with a bfg 6800 OC w/ 256 mb memory, and a 160 gb western digital HDD, a generic ethernet card, and NO sound card. IF someone could give a head up on what to do or if there are any other things I may be able to do to prevent this random annoying problem it would be most appreciated.

Thanks

It may be going into hibernation or standby. Check those settings out in Power Management.

it seems like its going into hibernation, double check your power options and make sure all the options are "Never"
If the problem persists, please be more exact on the status of your comp.

ok, i checked the power settings and they were already on never for all of them. I also lowered my monitors refresh rate to see if the monitor was using too much power. the last time it went into that described state, it made a small light beep eminating from the tower piece, so i believe that is the system speakers, so there is something definitly wrong. I took a look at the tempurature of my GPU in my nvidia tempurature settings and it says 50C and the core slowdown threshhold is 135C so I dont think it is a tempurature problem. I took into account that when the monitor goes into energy saving mode my music that was playing shut off as well, but the computer sounds as if it were still running, so I dont think my monitor is messing up because my music turned off too. I ran scan disk for the hard drive and everything turned out good so I dont think it is the HDD either. since the only other device I have connected to the mother board is the video card, a cd and dvd drive, and an ethernet card, I was thinking it could be my video card or perhaps my motherboard?
