I could be wrong, but I think I got the hookup for the next 5 years. Let's see...

Busted my ass in high school taking 8 AP courses, so I have 46 awarded credit hours.

Going into Digital Design major. Already have all my core classes done, and directed electives for the next 5 years taken care of. This quarter I'm taking all of my other required 1st year studio courses + one 2nd year course + 1 business course (getting a minor in business). Not sure what I'll do winter and spring quarter (probably take more 2nd year courses & finish up the business minor so I can get a physchology minor, though I have 1st year psych done too).

All wrapped up in 13 credit hours 🙂

Got a sweet local job (web design) making 50% more than I did at my old job in a computer shop, my own office (with fridge, micorwave, and a faaaaaast machine), and about to get raised AGAIN once fall quarter starts. Totally flexible; I'll be working ~10 hours/week.

Parents work at university (microbiologists), so I get free tuition 😀

Right now I'm living with them on campus in a faculty/staff apartment complex, BUT they said if I really wanted to they could rent out an efficiency (big living room, bathroom, closet room, kitchen) and I would pay them rent. So I would have my own place. Might take them up on the offer a few weeks into it. What do you think? You KNOW that's gonna be popular 😀😉

I think I'll have time for all the goodies of college (and since I don't drink or do any other drugs that leaves only one thing) 😀😀😀

drugs are not an issue, but if you expect to ave any fun in college, you'll probably need to drink. You realize that half the fun of college is getting completely wasted don't you? Kind of hard to have parties that are "dry". This is college, it's your chance to do anything and everything... start growing up after college 😉
 
You don't need to be a LUSH to live large on Campus. Just don't take exception to those who do, especially the Coeds😉
 
I assume you are getting more than one degree in 5 yeats considering how many credits you have?

I bet I could have a lot more fun sober. Especially if I get that room ... hmm 😀

I don't really wanna major in anything else; the Digital Design program is 200 credit hours anyway, so it's not like I won't have ANYTHING to do.
 
I have no idea why I just bumped this. Killing time until I go to bed in about 30 minutes. Anyone have interesting freshman year stories (something that would apply and not related to drinking or frats/sors)?
 
wait your not going to drink in college, your still living with or VERY close to your parents, and you have a job? What part of that is fun? Common man you have to get wasted now then.
 
No, I don't want to get wasted, I'll end up looking like this 😕 then the next morning I look like this 😱. If there's a need I'll move to my own place after the first few weeks. But only if I have someone to share the place with, at least for a few hours each day. And it's not going to be a guy 😀
 
Many parties and drinking episodes are some of my fondest memories from college. Don't rule out drinking. Of course if you are hanging out with a bunch of people that play Everquest on Friday night then drinking may not be that important to you.

The ones that are willing to hook up rather easily do. The other kind require things such as flowers, candy, dates, phone calls, time spending, etc. You'll find your "high paying job" will amount to jack squat if you start going for the other kind.
 
In the past 4 months, I've played a total of 10 hours of Serious Sam 2 (just to beat it), and 1 hour of UT2003. Before that I played RTCW for a few days. I'm just not into vid games anymore. Well, not since CS beta5 was upgraded anyway ...

Doesn't beer require just as much money? If they drink a lot anyway. I don't mind spending quality time together, that's the good part 😀 I've gotten away with using what I've been born with and buying candy/flowers once in a blue moon. Besides, UC (University of Cincinnati) isn't really a party school anyway; there aren't any good bars around either. Though 35,000 people is a good thing.
 
Think about it man. You're in college. The window of opportunity to drink and do drugs and take advantage of young girls is getting smaller by the day. Trust me, before you know it, you'll graduate into the real world and think back. In life, you regret the things you didn't do, not the things you did.
 
Nice to see so many proponents of alcohol here :disgust:. Some of you are practically telling him he should drink...

Remember, not everyone is boring when sober; not everyone needs alcohol to "open up" and have a good time. If he wishes to take the road less traveled and not act like a complete moron his entire tenure in college, he'll be a better man for it.

I hardly drank at all during college years, and only very lightly senior year (when I was 21). I still had a great time. Don't worry, dude, you can have a lot of fun in college if you don't drink, contrary to what a lot of other people are saying. Make some good friends, enjoy your classes, sleep late at least seven days a week, and live it up. You only get to be young and experience college once. 😀

I played rugby for my 5 years in University and had a ball for all of them. You said you didn't want to hear any stories related to drinking. Since this is all I have.....
