My college block kazaa ports so we can dl ne more =(

why not just use irc? i know it's not the best for older releases but it'll work just fine for the new stuff 🙂
 
a program called HTTP Tunneler will get you around this problim

also teh new versions of kazaa and kazaa lite run over teh http port so the cant really block it. just gfoed slow.
 
so which are kazaa ports, i guess when i lived on campus they hadnt gotten around to blocking that specific port yet. yea firewalls suck if you're a normal user and have little need for security, file transfers suffer, i had to go though alot to get my ftp/fserve running.
 
The mods don't like when you are asking how to get around something set in place to keep you from doing that.. it's there for a reason...

Bandwidth is eaten up because of kazaa I'm sure...

I'd transfer. College is all about cheap booze, free love and unlimited mp3s. If you're missing out on any of those things, there are plenty of schools willing to charge you $200,000 to prepare you to get an $18,000 a year job.

Hell I almost didn't understand what the heck he was talking about. I highly suggest AnandtechUser take some basic english classes.
 
Quit downloading stuff. Think what will happen once someone in power finds out what you got. And I think it's possible that you got a lot. Think twice, do you need all that stuff? Stupid, brain cell destroying movies, lame music mp3s, and other crap like prOn (if you dl all that, of course) - it's all nothing but crap IMVHO. It isn't worth breaking the law for that, is it? I hope you aren't downloading any copyrighted content. If you aren't I beg your pardon for this.

Seriously, I would think twice about using those p2p tools over a university network.

Download Kazzaahttp. There's a 20 day trial and it's $25 for the full version. I use it on StarBand to route KaZaA through their acceleration proxy to get 100 KBps rather than 10 KBps.

BTW, Kazzaahttp is just a SOCKS server that relays all SOCKS connections to a specified HTTP proxy.
