Nice bird. My girl is the damn bird lady, she can't get enough of em :D Had a tough old cockatiel named Misty, who sadly passed away this past year... Her current little buddy Lloyd, a peachfaced lovebird, recently won a photo contest and earned $200 worth of food (distributor's direct cost too, so that $200 goes a loooooong way)... She's between jobs so the ongoing joke is that he's earning more than she is these days :p

That is awesome.

Whenever I get a larger place, I want to get a medium sized parrot - eithr a senegal or a quaker.

Is that cockatiel as destructive as this chicken? :p

No, but he removed a keybord cap with his beak and flew across the room and deposited it into a heating grate that till this day I can't get up. Guess, what I had to buy another keyboard.

Sorry I mildly edited my post out from underneath ya... whoops

I bought my mother a Quaker for Xmas. Kori was a Petco "rescue" (read: purchase--they suck at caring for their animals) who had been bounced from store to store and had become very cage territorial. However he was handfed once upon a time, and is definitely responding to consistent attention and affection. He now enjoys nuzzling up in his red towel against his handler's chest... and has even regurgitated on my mother (their "proof" of ability to provide food, and thus make a good mate! )... lol

Anyways, I had one too, a long long time ago. We put the cage outside for a little bit. My idiot rotwieler starts running around like an idiot outside, knocks the cage over, and the bird escaped. I tried catching it, but it flew away. :(
