Found out a co-worker actually owned an s2000 Cr. 699 made world wide. Then I finally saw it. I guess he has an m3 as well that is quite modded. It hurt a little seeing it

Yeah I hate to judge but if someone is handicapped enough that they can't walk the same distance from a parking lot as everyone else, seems like they shouldn't be driving a car that much more difficult to get in and out of. At least it's BLUE lol.

Is it is just wheels and a hood? I'm more curious about the handicapped.
wheels and oem different tires - the wheels on this car are not CR wheels
aero (front splitter, rear spoiler)
revised suspension (springs/absorbers/sways)
added bracing
removable hardtop - no soft top
revised steering ratio
exhaust
few interior tweaks - including shifter/knob, seats
AC and stereo become factory options
the blue color

I don't believe the hood seen is OEM nor part of the CR packaging. This car aslo looks to have an added front splitter that isn't a CR aero part...

these cars carry a big premium to standard s2k out there

He's severely handicapped by his lack of torque 😉

Sorry that's mean.

But it's so true!

Honestly I was wondering about the handicapped thing too... doesn't seem like something that belongs in a handicapped space... but to each their own. Not like I'm going to park in the handicapped space anyway...

Edit: that is one of the best colors on a sports car IMHO. I love "asshole blue"

😀 Definitely a nice color for that type of coupe.

Looks nice, but that front license plate has got to go. So you may get a ticket now and then, but it is not a moving violation.

If you're referring to the location of the plate from an aesthetic aspect, that's preference. But, there are no laws against the license plate being affixed to its current location, at all. The only things required are the plate has to be attached securely to and visibly from the front of the car.

Yes, some idiot states like CA / NJ / NY and others want a front license plate. But that car was not intended to have one as it totally ruins the look. When I was in NY I left the front plate and bracket off the RX-7 .. Never got stopped for it but did get a parking ticket once. Never got any complaints about it driving in NJ either. Now down here in NC we do not use a front plate. Glad my new Cadillac ATS did not have any front plate holes in the bumper.

I ran no front plate for years, but recently got pulled over for it. I think they target people without front plates here, then try to find anything else they did wrong in one stop. He said I was speeding (45 in a 40), and when I looked in my glovebox I saw my proof of insurance printout was expired, which I knew I had renewed, but I have a few cars so sometimes I forget the latest paperwork in one. Luckily I don't have tinted windows but I'm sure he would've given me something for that, too.

Anyway, the whole stop cost me just about $100 in fix it tickets, but the insurance thing could've been much higher ($700) if I couldn't prove it, PLUS I had to make three trips to the police station at different hours to get them all signed off. Finally I mailed in some remaining form.

Overall, it was a miserable experience, trying to visit the police station and sign it off, trying to find a cop to approve my freshly-installed front plate, and the lingering deadlines and potential fines over my head. The stress and time spent was not worth the "cool" look of no front plate. From now on, I think it's not worth it. Maybe if I had a Porsche or Ferrari or something...

There are folding/retractable front license plate holders if you just want it to look nicer for photos. But I don't think it ruins the look of a car much. If you want a car to be perfect, you'll keep it in a showroom and just ogle it instead of driving.

I live in California. Haven't run a plate in 7 year's. Got two fix it tickets in that span which cost about $25 each and I have a plate relocator for the tow hook I just mount when I need to clear the ticket. I'm OK with it. Don't plan on running a front plate on my next car either.

In addition to getting rid of front plates, I feel cars would look a lot sexier without tires, a windshield, and most drivers.

It could have been a shiny blue bubble with a hint of shark. 😎

Wow! While we are required to have proof of insurance, here the LEOs simply have to access the driver's license data base and it will tell them if the driver/vehicle is insured (and until when).
