My currently PLANNED 11th Grade Schedule

Physics or Physiology, I haven't decided yet. I will take both (over Jr. and Sr. years), haven't decided what one will I will take first though.
Calculus AB
Physical Education
Computer Science AP
English 3 Honors
US History Honors

That would mean 3 of my classes would be Honors. I think that would be a good class load, English 3 Honors is rumoured to be extremely hard though and I guess US History Honors requires a lot of reading. But Calc wouldn't be that hard, I'm getting an A in Trig now, I will no longer have Spanish and a really hard (time consuming) science class anymore. So I think it would balance out.

I think I would be able to keep up with History, English and Math though. Especially since I can take Spanish out of the mix.

That's not even close to being hard. At my old high school that's a normal class load. Having 6/8 classes being AP or something along those lines is hard.

take AP Physics, AP Lang, and AP US.
I mean, you might as well do it if you're already going the honors course.

I say go for it, on a whole I've seen that the best teachers teach honors and AP classes

I'm a junior this year and my schedule is
1st Semester:
German II
Alg 3/ Trig
AP US History
AP English 11
H. Orchestra

2nd Semester:
AP Computer Science AB
H. Chemistry
AP English 11
AP US History
H. Calculus

it's not too much work at all
highschool is a joke :D

I wouldn't worry about it. Especially because it's high school. My senior year I took the following:
AP Calculus
AP Chemistry
AP Physics
AP English
AP Computer Math (basically an intro CS, but it was way easier than anything you'd take in college)
Political Science Honors

Once you get started, you'll see it's all easy.

Well, my school is weird. The Honors classes are EXTREMELY DIFFICULT and the regular classes are extremely easy, except the math classes, but those are practically considered Honors.

Yeah that looks like a pretty tough schedule. Should keep ya outta trouble. ;)

I can barely remember what my HS schedules were like, partially because I slept through most of HS.

next year (12th grade) I'm going to take:

AP English
AP Calculus
AP Physics
AP Government
AP Spanish
AP Music theory
Intro to Econ (also supposed to be hard..dunno why it's called "intro"--the other one is the 'general' class)
Hopefully I get a study hall or somethin..

My relevant reply to the thread:

I could never do that course load, but I lack the motivation. If you're motivated and smart, you should be in the clear.

When in Math do y'all do Rational Expressions?

Irrelevant:
Argh, the American school system is supposed to suck, but you guys get so many courses!

Here we have basic Grade 10, 11, 12 core subjects plus a few crappy options. No history, no geography, no computer science courses, no government courses, no business courses, no economics. Only 3 languages availible, P.E., Electro Design, Cosmotology, TOURISM STUDIES, Mechanics...that's all I can think of.

I'm in a school of 1500 too, so its not like we're tiny!

Sorry if I thread crapped... but I didn't want to make a new thread for this.

As SWirth86 said, I guess it really depends on the school. Next year ( as a junior) I'll be taking:

IB English 11
IB Spanish IV
Adv. US History/IB History of the Americas
IB Calculus
IB Chemistry II
IB Biology
Newspaper
Theory of Knowledge (after school, 3hrs once a week)
and probably an independent study in CS2

For those of you that don't know and care: IB

MrCodeDude, I'm sure you'll get through the year just fine! :)

Hard highschool classes are the best (ap/honors) mainly because the teachers recognize ur above average and have a generaly better sense of responsiblity and they allow u to screw around :) Took 4 ap classes this year all of them are soo chill :p
