My Christmas Shopping "Nightmare"

guyver01

Lifer
So... today i went to Best Buy to buy a nice Flatscreen TV.

I walked into the store.. the guy at the front said "Welcome to Best Buy" .. i told him thanks! and kept walking to the TV section.

I get back there, and start looking at the tvs. I see a nice Toshiba 55" .. so while i'm looking at it.. a salesman comes up and asks if i need help. I tell him yes, i'd like this TV.

He takes the tag... looks it up in the computer. He tells me they have 6 in stock. He rings me up.

"Would you like the extended warranty" ... No thank you

"Do you need any cables? HDMI? Surge Protector" ... No thank you

"Do you have our rewards card" Yes.
OK.. please punch in your phone number.

I do... and 2 minutes later..

"Ok .. that will be $849.36"

I swipe my credit card... sign... and the salesman then tells me..

OK.. they'll bring it out from stock in about 5 minutes.

After 5 minutes of waiting... they roll my nice, new TV out... the guy helps me load it into my truck... and away i went.

I CANT BELIEVE IT!!! HASSLE FREE!!!! DAMMIT!! I WANT A CHRISTMAS NIGHTMARE STORY!!!

i'm so fucking pissed! 😡

I've got a better one.

I bought a 50" plasma TV off Newegg on Black Friday (Normally $1399, on sale for $860'ish). I got a call the following Monday morning saying it would be delivered that afternoon. The delivery guys came, carted it into my house and told me Merry Christmas!

I DIDN'T EVEN HAVE TO SHOOT THEM!!!

You screwed up. You should have asked if he could take any off the price if you bought a bunch of accessories. They usually get a manager and he says yes, then you return the accessories the next day. 😀

actually.. when i unboxed it.. i found.... EXACTLY what i bought. a brand new 55" TV.

looks good on its mount on my tv stand.

The bastards!

I had a similar experience when I ordered my Panasonic 50" plasma from Dell 2 years ago. I placed the order on-line, it went through just fine...then, of all the fucking nerve, they delivered it 3 or 4 days later...several days earlier than they promised...and even called the day before to arrange delivery!
Fuckers...how was I supposed to get a good rant going when they do better than they said they'd do?

lol you're so ironic guise.
Wait a few days when you will be the discoverer of a overheating issue 😛

Yeah, mine didn't come with the glasses and at $70 a pop I'm not about to invest!

It's like "virtual reality" was in the 90s with the stupid head set. It will be gone soon.

55" Class

I would like to do some unkind things to the people responsible for that BS.

"We want to save some money on these things by making the screen size smaller, but we don't want to tell anyone that we're doing it, or at least the packaging shouldn't call attention to it. We also need it to be legal."

So you can now sell a 54.625" screen as a 55"-class screen, as long as you specify the actual size somewhere on the package, in tiny letters.
They should do that with gasoline, too. The amount of gas you just bought is 1-gallon-class. It's, you know, somewhere in the neighborhood of less than a gallon.

The joys of marketing: The art of selling something without having to talk honestly about the product.

OP, you're post is a total disappointment.

Do not shop at BB ... even if you have a positive experience.

Toshiba ... well, you can tell us later on that issue.
