kills your credit though, and good luck getting another cell phone without putting down a $500+ deposit...
Not really. They won't forward it to a collection agency for like 6 months, at which point you can call them and bullsh1t your way out of it. Before this happens, they'll be stupid enough to tell you what you SHOULD have done (i.e. call them the day it was stolen), so six months later, you know what to say: you CALLED THE DAY IT WAS STOLEN! Who did you speak to? Don't remember! Oh they don't record phone calls and have no record of you doing so? Too bad, so they've got no case. Must have been a new employee who forgot to take the necessary steps. Easy as that. Then you make sure they pull the file from the collection agency, and give equifax (or whoever) a call to make sure the record's clan. Voila! Welcome to the US of A, a country where the only limit is what you've got the balls to pull off 😀
and then you fell from your bed and woke up asshat Assume all that you want. Pull something like that off first and then come to brag about it. They don't have to record the conversation with the CSR. If you lost your cell and indeed call them when it happen it will show on file. Corporations don't rely on their employee's memories to do business.
*sigh* Learn to read, doormat. I HAVE.

damn.. that sucks. good luck getting that worked out.

im sure if you talk to the customer service rep-- they'll at least try and help you out some

Why cant he provide proof he was in europe while the phone was being used? Wouldnt that get him out of charges? I would definitely fight the provider with this. Tell them you want the numbers that were called investigated.

Was your car on you drive at home? If so, it should be covered under your house insurance. Call the cell company and ask them if they made any calls to the phone or your house enquiring about any strange expensive calls that are out of the ordinary for your bills? They should be looking out for you as well. Out of curiosity, have you called the phone at all, or asked the cell company to trace it?

File a police report to make it official and show proof you left the country and couldnt have possibly made those calls during that time.

I think you could easily get out of this bill. Just be strong and explain your story in a nice manner. Keep going up the chain of command.

Got Ethics?

what is that? welcome to usa, ethics are irrelevent what is relevent is what u can get away with,

to klingsor, call cell phone company and tell them that you where out of the country and coudn't have been able to make those phone calls, and tell them to prove it that u made them.

to everyone else: are you guys sure that cell phones afffect your cc history, not sure why but for some reason i was under immpresion that it will not affect your cc history
