My VZW Motorola Z6c very rarely rings through in my bedroom in my apartment. I always thought my phone was just garbage (well, it is anyway) but i've recently realized that i have 4 other wireless devices running at any given time in the same (very small) proximity. I have a Logitech wireless Keyboard, an MX Revolution, a 360 controller, and a linksys wireless router all within about 6 feet of eachother. Could this be blocking my cell reception? My phone always shows around half signal, but i'll go hours without any hits on my phone and then as soon as i leave my room or call out, i get hammered by stuff i've missed. Any thoughts? Thanks guys.

cell phones usually operate in the 800mhz band- it sounds like most of the devices you listed are more in the microwave band (2.4ghz). I don't think your devices are causing interference. How much signal are you getting in your apartment? What level do you live on?

OK, i wasn't sure what frequencies CDMA used. As i said, i hover around half signal. I live on the first floor. My window faces southeast. Perhaps my phone's signal readout just isn't accurate.

that's very much a possibility. I was just reading an article (maybe on boing boing?) that said the "bars" are hardly accurate since signal can bounce.

Yes, the signal strength indicator uses RSSI, when the more important factor is your Ec/Io measurements.

Some building construction attenuates certain frequencies. Try different locations. You might also consider an external antenna linked to an internal wireless booster.

When I visit my sister-in-law in Pasadena, CA, my Sprint connection is just about zero - can't even log on. If I just go outside, I get 4 bars and an immediate connection.

If I use my AT&T device, it works fine in her house. Different frequency band.
