**Official confirmed** real advice:

1. If the water was, ummm, well, not clean water in the toilet...
(then, why do you want it in the fridge with food?!?!) Rinse it with distilled water.

2. remove battery

3. Put it somewhere warm and dry, but not too warm. < 150 degrees F is fine.

Or, rinse it with rubbing alcohol (submerge it)
Pray that nothing in your cellphone dissolves in alcohol
Let it dry (it'll dry quicker than water)

first concoct a solution of high-grade sake and the above-mentioned grape juice, then spread it liberally on the counter, rub the phone in it, and lick up the rest. spin around twice, drink some water upside down, get scared, eat a spoonful of sugar, drop the phone in the toilet again and it will be as good as new.

I dropped my phone while on into the toilet (clean water), and took it out, turned it off, took out battery and left it for a day or so, and it was fine.

At least you didn't try to turn it on right away...

And you never answered the question... what was in the toilet besides your cell phone ? #1 or #2/both ? That'd be a great reason for me to finally buy a new phone...

You didn't notice the laughter of your co-workers behind your back when you actually fell for their joke and put it in the fridge?
They are going to have a field day with this one.
Next thing you know, employees you don't even know are going to be pointing and laughing when they see you.

EDIT: my little brother (14) dropped his phone in a lake. It died. He returned it to the store and told them it just stopped working. He didn't realize that there is a sticker in the battery compartment that permanently changes color if the phone gets wet. SOL for him.
