My cdrom drives haven't been working correctly lately, could this be it?

I have 2 cd rom drives, and, acording to nero, they both have an adapter number of 1 atapi = 1
The sci Id's are different for each of them though.
 
Do they work properly in everything besides NERO?

What OS are you using?
 
Winxp. They work nowhere. Here is a link to another thread explaining everything here
