Honestly? Be a grown up and turn off the sink... Geeze, people and pets. They let pets rule their lives.
he's really cute though when he drinks out of the sink... this thread was just an excuse to post kitty pics.
my other kitten doesn't even drink any water, period. so when we feed them wet food i normally pour some water in the wet food to give them some extra fluid.
Some cats simply will not drink enough water from any standing source to adequately provide for their long term health.
These cats
may come from a line of cats whose long, long ago wild ancestors lived in places that had adequate sources of running water. Standing water, in the wild, is, percentage-wis,e less healthy and safe.
Slowly, over many generations, these particular cat's ancestors were naturally selected in favor of those cats who only drank from running water.
Both of your pets
seem to have inherited this behavior. Please don't let yourself be bullied by those here whose reflexive manly-man stance is based in dismissive ignorance.
These are
your cats. They are dependent upon
you.
It's
your choice whether to leave them at long-term health risk for not drinking enough water or to spend the ~$40 for a drinkwell type thingy.
