Sorry man, I had a cat named Max too who I can remember as far back as my earliest memory, he died like a year ago and was something like 16 freakin years old but still as spunky and althletic as day one it seemed, all my other cats end up getting chubby and lazy but never him. Hope you get over it well.

After a month or so he just kicked back into gear. The past 2 weeks though, he has just been really lazy, siting in the same spot day all day and rarely getting up. He started making some kinda wheezing noise every so often about a week ago. Then just about 2 hrs ago, we were going to weight him because he seemed very very skinny and light. He kept squirming around when we tried to weigh him. So we stopped for a little, then tried to weigh him again. He stuck both his hands up and his eyes frooze like he was having a siezure. I put him on the floor and he kept twitching every once in a while, and then we lost him. I tried to massage his heart, even pumping it, but his mouth moved just a tad bit and that was it.

awww man that is so sad :(

atleast you got to be there with him in his last moments. that almost brings a tear to my eyes man, i truly know the pain of losing pets. good luck with it though, time will heal wounds, but it just takes time.

our cat recently was diagnosed with diabetes and he can hardly use his back legs anymore. it really is sad to see him struggle around the house. he used to be one of those hunter cats and now he can't even jump up on a couch really.

ditto, thats harsh being there just watching him go like that even though you do what you can to try and save him.

Sorry for your loss platinumike and the other posters who lost pets also.

My Daughters cat 'Beanie" was killed by two pit bulldogs who came through the patio window and mauled him before I could stop them.

The big one acted like he was going to attack me several but finally trotted off.

I was going to take Beanie to the pet hospital but he died.

I found out who the owners are and contacted various agencys but they wouldnt do anything.

EDIT:
Beanie was around 11 also.

'Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have had a cat at all.

Amended. :)

Having experienced a similar loss only a few days ago, I can empathize. :(

That was one cool cat and you were one lucky owner to be left with those priceless good memories. Take comfort in knowing he's in good hands and will be waiting for you.

I agree to the amendment. Sorry for your loss as well, LordUnum. :(
