I guess my front door wasn't closed all the way so my cat opened it enough to get out... He's been gone for probably around 30 minutes and is nowhere in sight.. Anyone know how to look for / find a lost cat?

Stupid ungrateful animals, cats are.

usually I grab an empty glass bowl and a metal spoon and start tapping... and yell their name loud. go "I NEED YOU PU$$Y!!!"

then run away from the cops :)

you could leave out a cat trap

a cage that's triggered when the cat enters the cage. leave out a can of tuna.

Seriously, put out some water and food, and start tapping. Don't worry about looking foolish, you don't have a huge window to try and get your cat back with a good chance like you do now!

all 3 of the cats at my house were strays that showed up at our house. My stupid sister fed them and after that they just wouldn't go away. She didn't learn her lesson the first time, the second time, or the third time. My dog keeps them in line though. Its funny because Toby(my dog), really f!ucked up the second cat when they first met. Bite right through the cats ear. But now after they got to know each other Toby likes the second cat the best and protects him from the other animals. I find it rather amusing.

Do you feed him canned food?

Do you use an electric can opener when you open his food?

If so, fire that sucker up by the door.

At any rate, he is probably just out cating around looking to GET SOME, and he'll be back in the morning looking like HELL with this SNIDE look on his mug!

Your cat's been outside for half an hour and you think he's gone forever?

My cat's go outside for 12 hours/day, they always come back

But do you live in the inner city? I hear stray cats getting mauled by neighborhood dogs more times than I'd like. Add to that the fact that my cat's never been outside before.

I'll just leave my door open a crack tonight and hope for the best.

Awww I'm so sorry. Brutuskend had the right idea. If you feed you cat canned food and use an opener....use it by the door so he can hear it. If it's a flip-top....open one, if it's a box that you use (dry cat food) shake the box. Don't worry about looking dumb if you're wanting your cat back.

Good luck!!!!!

I have had 2 indoor cats runaway on me..

One was tom cat, the other was a $400 himalayan..

Just got a new Himalayan for $200, so If she runs away I only lost half..

Sorry bro, I hate the feeling of losing a cat..

The can opener is a great idea..

Cats are actually quite smart. They have a very acute sense of direction and will usually find their way back home. I wouldn't be suprised if he's meowing outside your door by morning. Anyway, my wife and I have 3 of them and it would be like losing a child so I hope you get him back.

She's great very well behaved, and loves to be held and petted..

You get what you pay for w/ animals, you are paying for a nice disposition..

She gets along great w/ my other cat and 2 rabbits..

She's really small though, my mom bought her brother he was a monster(Huge), but she was the runt..

She was my B-day present from my wife..

My wife bought me some expensive pu55y for my B-day, gotta love her..

I wouldn't worry too much if I was you. The first time my 2 cats ran away was 4-5 years ago, we looked and looked for them, but then, in exactly one week, both of them came back to our porch door and ever since then they've been outdoor cats!

i have a cat.. and i know if i lost her i dont know what'd i do... but she's a big chicken $#!T... once i went to drive my friends home, but i guess they forgot to close the door... so i drove them home.. musta been 20-30 mins... when i got back, she was just standing there in the stairway.. i pulled into the driveway, and she got scared, and ran back up the stairs into the house.. i ran up the stairs to see what happened and she was just sitting by the door like nothing happened... crazy cat... i do miss her though... she lives with my girlfriend now, and they're both 3 hours away... *sigh*
