My cat is throwing up 3-4 times a day

I'm gonna take my cat to the vet tomorrow morning, but anyone here have any experience with anything like this?

He's a 13 year old tabby.

It seems like he throws up everything that he eats for the last 3 days.

I just saw him throw up like 5 times in about 5 minutes.It just looks like bile after all the food has come out the first 2 times he yaked.

If he hasn't been a hairballer, definately take him to the vet. Hope it's not something serious.

i have no clue about animals, but i hope your guy can hang in there

It's odd because he hasn't shown any symptoms of anything and just out of the blue he seems like he can't keep anything down.

The only thing that I can even think is that maybe he got food poisioning from somethng he ate.

A few days ago I fed him a tin of turkey (like a tin of tuna, but turkey - don't ask, I didn't even know such a thing existed until I saw it in the pantry) because we ran out of cat food that day. Maybe it was spoiled somehow?

Our female cat was throwing up everyday and we tried switching foods and had her in to see the vet a couple of times with no success. This started about 6 years ago and lasted about 2 months. What worked was finally switching to Science Diet Sensitive Stomach food. She rarely throws up anymore except for the occasional hair ball or when she goes outside and eats some of the lawn grass. She is pretty healthy now and about 15 years old. She's lived with us in Montana, Idaho, California, Alaska, and now in Nevada. Glad we got her back to being healthy.

Two things we live by with cats (and we've had our share of them:

We buy a 17 lb bag for $25-$30, lasts quite a while for 2 cats.

2. Fresh Step Crystals litter (practically ordorless...incredible stuff)

A little more costly than normal but worth every penny to keep them clean and healthy.....

Do you still have that turkey tin? If you can find it, maybe check the expiration date on it.

It could be any number of things, a bug of some sort, a blockage, or who knows what. Get kitty to the vet asap. Dehydration is a danger in this situation.

Something could be wrong with him, luckly you're doing the wise thing by getting him checked out by a vet. A cat who frequently throws up isn't a normal thing.

Animals don't show the signs like a person would when sick.

This could be one or a combination of a million things. Your vet will be able to determine it.

Feeding them a can of food you felt was questionable was a bad thing to do though.

at that age my first guess is hyperthyroid. better to have it removed than using the medication. one of the side affects of the meds is acute kidney failure.


i miss my kitty
