It all started here
Sadly, she really is paranoid and delusional right now. SHe's been battling this lingering conjunctivits for about 2 weeks now (it should have cleared a long time ago). I've visited the vet numerous times.
- First it was bad, went to vet and got triple-antibiotic.
- Then it got worse, went back to the vet and got 3-AB w/ hydrocortizone
- Got much better, but not totally gone. Vet tells me to keep using AB and check back in 5 days if it hasn't completely gone away.
- 6 days later it's exactly the same (and actually got a little worse one day), back to the vet.
So our options were to try yet another medicine or put her under and take a closer look in the eye to see if there's something stuck or a hair growing the wrong way, etc.... (mind you each visit the vet examined the eye and didn't see anything). This was to see if there were things stuck where we couldn't find them while she was awake.
I opt for the eye exam so that we can atleast rule out a irritation from a foreign body....So I pick her up today and they didn't find anything. No surprise, though I was hoping they would 'cause removing/flushing would have been the easiest solution. So now I have my thrid eye medicine, which are drops this time and not just an AB ointment.
If she doesn't get better after this then they suggested I take her to a specialist....*sigh* all these dollars leaving my bank account feels really heavy on the shoulders.
Anyway, so now she's recovering from the anesthetic, which apparently make cats hallucinate. She's absolutely paranoid-schizo right now. Normally a very very laid back cat , right now she hisses at things that even come close to her and then runs blindly....usually into an object or wall.
It all makes me sad, and the fact that I have to leave her in the care of a friend for the next several days as I go to my sister's wedding tomorrow makes me feel even worse.
I really hope this new medicine does the trick.
