I spent the last 6 weeks training my cats to do their business on the john and it has finally paid off. Sadie (the star of the first video) is much less shy about making her deposits so we frequently hear her finishing up. We weren't able to get the juicy details recorded but we got the end, which is good enough. Turtle, our other cat, made a contribution last night in the wee hours of the morning so they are both officially certified now. Video

Fluffy (ATOT named him, there is a thread somewhere) was recorded last night having his dinner. Not much else to say, other than it took me a few tries to get him to eat pre-killed mice at first but now it's no big deal as you will see. Video

Enjoy!

Honestly, even for ATOT, I didn't expect a response this daft. Please enlighten me how the cat has any shit on her legs after it falls straight into the toilet. She doesn't jump in and fish it out.

The mouse is not frozen. It was frozen, but was thawed.

Yes, I hope that the mouse is thawed. I think it can be bad for the snake if the mouse is not entirely at room temperature. The snake's cold-blooded, and won't have an easy a time of bringing food up to room temperature. One of the last things it needs is something cooling it down from the inside out.

Geez, I'll edit the OP to be extremely explicit regarding the state of the mouse. I know snakes are cold blooded and can't be fed frozen food. Somehow I've managed to keep it alive for the last 10 feedings as well as all of my other cold blooded pets.

Actually, knowing how stupid some people are, I now understand why you could have read it the way you did. I forget sometimes that some people have no clue what they are doing and would feed a literally frozen mouse to a snake.

No problem, no disrespect was intended. :)

Too often people get pets without knowing anything about them.

"What do you mean, burmese pythons grow to be more than a foot long?"

"Since when do cats need to be fed more than once a week?"

"Ooh, they have the Internet on computers now!"

:D

Coincidentally, it's feeding time for my ball python today, too. He'll down 5 hopper mice, one right after another. And otherwise, he's a perfectly calm and tolerant critter that'll never strike at anyone. But he goes totally batsh-t insane when he smells mice. After he's eaten, I can walk past the aquarium, several feet away, and sometimes I'll hear a BONK from him striking at me. He's not especially smart.

i dont think i have the patience to get my cat to do that.
plus ive had to start putting the toilet seats down, my cat was having way too much fun w/ the toilet water.
drinking & dipping his paws in it for some reason. he absolutely loves water.

I think it's interesting that you train your pets to do unnatural things.

What is your point? Pre-killed mice are cheaper and easier to store, and not needing to clean a litter box is nice.

There are like 8 million videos of cats flushing toilets on youtube. It appears that none of them include a cat actually doing his business first. You need to get on that, for the sake of the Internet.
