my laptop was powered on running some downloads, and it is open and sit on the side (like an open book standing up) to prevent over heating. in hindsight, I guess it was really stupid to do that.
at 9am, way past the cat's feeding time of 7am, he got mad and starts to knock over everything on the nightstand. my cellphone, my fake movado watch, my ceiling fan/light remote control, my free 14 day wow free trial dvd from pc gamer, and then my laptop.
the dell laptop is actually pretty durable if it is closed, i've dropped it twice before with no problem. however, in its open state, the screen hit a sharp corner somewhere and now there's a big crack in the lower left hand corner.... the screen only works on the top 4-5 inches.
going to whine for a few days of no laptop use in the bedroom. (i think my wife is happy about that part).
i guess since it is company property, i'll dispatch our new 3 party vendor to fix this.
Update, it is still broken, damn socialized tech..
here are the pictures of the nightstand, the cat and the broken laptop: 1,2,3
Update 3, fixed, one week later
