Geez, you took a generic case and turned it into <gulp> what is arguably a work of art.

I'm impressed, at least! :)

Great Job! I am very impressed with how neat it looks on the inside. I have been looking around for ideas of how to make my case a little neater, but nothing seems to really work for me. Do you have any other pictures of the inside of your case? Maybe I can get a better idea of how you ran the wires. Are the wires standard length coming from your PSU?

Thanks!

OK here are a few more pics.....

Here's where the wire mess is hidden wiremess.jpg
Here's another view of what shows (not hidden)insidetop.jpg
The wire coming from under my motherboard is CD audio. (I just sleeved what would be visible.)
Here's a pic after sleeving and and UV modding my power supply powersupply.jpg
hehe....working on PC's barefoot is a real nono!

Here are a couple of shots of the prep for painting my faceplate.
holescut.jpg and faceclear.jpg

I'll put up pics of the drive bays when I complete them. They are aluminum and my cuts with tip snips weren't very clean. i am going to clean the up with my dremel a bit.

What's with that plastic cr@p manufactures insist on placing on the faceplate? Am I alone in my hatered of plastic plates?

Nice case ... very good work ... might check out Lian-li's universal CD bezels to clean up the front. Appears to be similar brushed material. I know my pc-65b looks super clean with the universal bezels. You can also order blanks.

Actually this case is a Super Flower case branded Directron. (kinda expensive when I bought it )
Lian Li's were over $200 at the time and this one cost me $150.

As to your question about the clear face plate. It is still there. I just cut, puttied, sanded and paint + clearcoat. (If for follow the thread down a bit I put up a pic of the faceplate under construction.)

The paint job pretty much turned into a nightmare though. The putty decided that it didn't want to stay in the holes very well so I put tape in between the aluminum front and the plexiglass. Then off to painting.
All was going great. When I go to put my 3rd and final coat of "Hammered Black" (textured finish) I had a spray can malfunction and it dripped all over the faceplate! :| Then I had to wet sand the entire face since the finish is textured. I noticed later I still need to pull it off and touch it up some more. I got one smudge on the clearcoat also. (Don't believe manufacturer specs for dry time)

I have the original face plated to cover the drives, just need to get a new grinding stone for my dremel to clean them up better.
almost forgot....
The side window came from Directron. My family bought it for my birthday. Matter of fact that is what started this project in the first place. :)
