My case is finally done =)

Yeah, It's pretty big. The reason the fan isn't centered is because I have a linear actuator controlled by a pump that lifts the top off when I push a button. Didn't install it yet, but had to leave the center free.

That looks WAY COOL. A big, silver pyramid thingee....more pics, man! Linear actuator too? Niceeeee.

Was it a kit or did you fabricate the aluminum skeleton yourself? This is very interesting!

The case was custom fabricated. My father owns a machine shop and I designed it and welded it myself. I used aluminum for everything to make it light weight, and it really is. It's probably lighter than most standard cases.... (Not with 5 Hard drives it it though 😉

Cool beans. 😎 Is the base diamond plate? It looks it...how do you weld steel plate to aluminum?

Also, the outer covering; is it metal or plastic? How did you shape it like that?

yeah, Samsung phone =) Those are just flat pieces of aluminum that I welded together and grinded smooth... pretty simple design. The inside is made up of angle iron (aluminum). That was the tricky part. In all, the materials are fairly cheap. Cost around $80-$100 in materials. Chroming was an assload of money, but polished aluminum would have given the same effect.
