My case has an led to read temp but....

Does anyone have a case with a temp reading on it? This new case I got today has an led thermometer on the front, looks very cool, but.... (i haven't used up my stupid question yet today have I?) I really am not sure where this connects and the case didn't come with ANY documentation.

There is a wire coming from there, it is just plain, not a pin or plug or anything, does that go under the cpu fan or something? I have already installed the cpu and fan so I really don't want to take it apart, (since the instructions said you need more thermal paste then and I have none). I can't think of any other way it could tell temp tho'.... big bummer. So, if I just leave it hanging in there, I guess it won't function? Jeez, this is the first time I have put together a pc, I wish the case had some instructions... TIA if anyone has some experience with such a thing.

here's how it worked on mine, which had a little wire with a loop on it...

you're suppsoed to put the loop (or make one if there isn't one) around one of the outer pins of the cpu before you put the hsf on

thats what I use for my cpu temps, it reports them more accurately than asus probe due to asus's wackiness

i guess you could put it on anything though...or leave it dangling inside for case temp
