My CAS Latencies

Here are my current latencies on my 2x 512MB Mushkin Level PC3500 DIMM's. Are those latencies optimal for my rig?

CAS# Latency 2.5 clocks
RAS# to CAS# 3 clocks
RAS# Precharge 3 clocks
Cycle Time (TRAS) 6 clocks
Bank Cycle Time (TRC) 12 clocks
DRAM Idle Timer 16 clocks

Here is my rig:

A64 3000+ @ 2160MHz
Asus K8V SE Deluxe
Radeon 9800 Pro
2x 512MB Mushkin Level PC3500

Are my current latencies optimal or not? And if not, what should I change them to?

Although your RAM should be able to handle tighter timings, I reccomend testing tighter timings on a separate installation. My installation corrupted because I tried to lower my timings too much.

is it a level 1 or level 2?
level 1 mem timings by SPD is about 2-3-3-6 I think,

and level 2 is 2-2-2-5 ( that is if it is using BH-5 )
but Mushkin level 2 are no longer in production as they have replaced it with the Special 2-2-2 PC3200 which uses Winbond Bh-6

Thats the only way to really do it. Start off lowering them, run memtest, lower again, memtest more. I would suggest starting at 2 3 3 6, test that. Then if tis ok maybe 2 2 3 6.

yeah, that way you can find the sweet spot of the RAM.
but it is going to take time to find the best timings for your RAM and system
