Last night, for the first time ever, I used some of those Armor All pad things on my dashboard, and they worked really well! I never knew the inside could be so clean and shiny..a little too shiny though.

This morning as I was driving though, I found that the dashboard would reflect on to my windshield, creating a big glare there, essentially making anything at my 1 o'clock invisible....

Stay away from that armor-all...looks nice but causes all sorts of problems like glare. Or the idiot who put it on his steering wheel.

The armor-all would add negligible traction loss for the first 3 seconds...I think the guy was just a moron driving moronically in moronic-driving-weather.

When was the last time you saw a car with a leather dashboard?

The Armor All wipes work pretty well.

They aren't nearly as slick as the spray bottle, so if you're careful it works out fine. Use it first on more conspicuous areas, and then apply to the dash.

I use meguiars most of the time to clean the interior and it needs to be cleaned right now!

Yeah armor all on the dash makes a glare and if you aren't careful it will get on the windshield.

The car cleaning place in town used that crap on my interior before i bought my car. That was 3 months ago, and everything is still greasy on the inside, including the seats. its nasty, and it wont come off for anything. Looked good at first, now all it does is make dirt and dust stick to everything. grrr

Good thing I read this. So what IS a good idea to use on the soft plastics of a car's dash?

vinylex won't harm the plastic and doesn't (from what i heard) leave a bright shine. it should be available at regular auto parts stores
