The Elise engine had problems? I haven't heard of m/any problems with the 00+ Celica GTS..did they really change it that much?

The first version of the engine had a nasty problem of gernading when driven hard. Consequently the redline was lowered along with a few other tweaks. Its nowhere near as robust as a B series Honda engine. Incidentally, the guy that was importing Elise's long before Lotus did used B18's. Now he's moved on to using K20's. I fathom the K powered Elise would send the Toyota powered Elise wimpering home with its tail between its legs.
