I went in for an oil change today and they gave me the codes my car's CEL is throwing.

P0118 - Engine coolant temp circuit high input
P0411 - Secondary air injector system incorrect flow
P1178 - Manufacturer control fuel air metering.

Anybody have any idea what these are exactly and if it would be worth it/cost efficient to get it checked out and fix? I've been driving my car with this for 6 months with no noticeable issues. Although I noticed it hasn't been quite as peppy as it usually is. By the looks of the "air injector" and "air metering" language of the codes, it looks like it might have something to do with the turbo, which would make sense at the lack of peppiness.

your 1.8 on the right side of the engine near your intake pipe. there should be a coolant sensor. a new redesign one is GREEN old style is black. black= replace. $15 for OEM one ask for new oring. pull the clip out. unclip sensor. replace and your good on that sensor. I did those everyday when i was at the dealer.

2ndary air= many reason. problem vac lines. look lines. a lot of things. bad 2ndary air pump itself. you kinda gotta know what your doing for this one. 2ndary air helps you car warm it. on cold starts it like a mini heater to help you car warm up faster. NOTHING to do with performance.

air meter refers to MASS AIR FLOW. You gotta go look at your fuel trims to see where are you are at. Mass air flows are 150$'ish. the mass air flows have grounding issues. VW and the wonderful harnesses and ground locations.

PM if you have any detailed questions. I dont know how mechincally incline you are. so i dont know what type of info to give you. I would say take care of the coolant sensor because it is very easy. It takes me 2 mins to do. HONESTLY. the sensor is in your fact if you remove the engine cover which is about 5 plastic screws and the lower cover which is 3 more screws. right side of engine. a U clip holds this in.
