Went to run out to lunch and when I started my car the car alarm on the car next to me went off.

Granted my car is a bit loud and rumbly but I think someone was messing with me, kind of humorous though.

Yes its just the low frequency vibrations
When I go riding with my friends with Harleys, they can set off a whole block of car alarms with their loud pipes.Usually its the cheap alarms that go off

"Vibrations?"
possibly, but it's really hot out so asphalt would have been soft, not really going to be any vibrations through there, I guess they could just have their alarm set for really sensative, seems like that would get annoying very quickly.

hm, that would make sense then. So how come Harley riders never get pulled over for loud exhaust?

The exhaust on my car used to do this also. Sometimes it would set off a single beep on those two stage car alarms and if I gave the engine a little more gas it would set the full alarm off.

I finally decided it was too loud when I passed a flat bed on the highway and set off the alarm on the car it was carrying. Actually the exhaust isn't that loud it just puts out some very low frequencies.

I used to set off car alarms with my old stereo system in my prelude. It's not in there anymore though :(
