My car keys are lost and gone forever... what do I do?

That pretty much describes it. I've spent the last few days searching for my keys.. they're nowhere to be found.

Am I screwed or do I have to somehow assemble a key out of a paperclip? Will my AAA card help me out at all?

Any help would be great

Go through the auto manufacturer, not the AAA. I'd start with the dealership where you bought the car.

And next time, don't be a dumbass. Not having a spare set of keys is incredibly stupid.

Is it a late model car? You may be able to go to the dealer with the VIN and get a key made for it. You'll have to show ownership of the vehicle as well.

It's a 91 nissan that I bought from another person... I think going to a Nissan dealer will just result in laughter. Both from the dealer and probably you

has anybody ever done this?

well, long story short: im home for thanksgiving break, and left my spare set up at school. which is 200 miles away

Then have your roommate or a friend or the RA or somebody go into your room and overnight them.

Take your registration to the dealership and they usually can make a new copy for you.

AAA can only help if you think your keys might be in the car. Worth a shot if you've looked everywhere but in the car.

Dealerships can usually cut a key from you from the VIN like it's been suggested, mine cost $15 and 5min (only key I got was a copy, it didn't work too well so I had one made)

Definitely call a Nissan dealer. If you can show them the title that you own the car, they should be able to get your a new set. Not sure if they'd need the car or the VIN or what but they should be able to do something...

Once I lost my keys... Triple A sent a guy out and he managed to make a key right then and there. Without Triple A, it would have been over $100.
