2008 Honda CRV EX AWD, purchased brand new in February 2008
about 12K miles

This has been going on for a week or so now. When I'm driving at speeds 40mph and over, there is an annoying "rattle" coming from the front passenger side. After paying close attention, it sounds as if it's coming from the door/window area, but it might be the area by the seatbelt. It will come and go, and it's nothing loud; but the fact that it's a new car and it's making this audible rattle is really starting to annoy me.

I dont know if I should take it in to the dealer for something like this...?

hmmm...if it is speed dependent hard to tell if it is change... mine did the same thing (minivan) in the back two seats...it was the seatbelt buckle ratting against the post. there is little slot holders when not in use... have to remind kids to use them, cuz they drive me nutz rattling around.

might be the seatbelt not going back to the orig position. it may be snagged and be bumping on the side of the door

I have a similar problem with my Mazda 3 that I bought a few months ago. A couple of weeks ago, when I drive above the speed of 55 MPH, the right side of the car, around the windshield/dash area makes a rattling sound. It has gotten less noticeable in the past few days.

I took it to the dealership today and they say that the only sound they heard were the relays clicking and that is normal operations. I too did not hear much rattling on my way home. Maybe it is getting better, maybe it is not. But I am also trying to figure out what is causing this.

take it in and let them deal with it... it will not cost you a penny.
