8 and a half years and her first repair is on the horizon. inner/outter tie rods and sway bar end links. Yes, they will be upgraded to performance parts and not OEM.

If OEM got you 7-8 years, you are getting performance because you want the feel/satisfaction. Not for longevity.

They will not add value to the car, and I do not expect you will have this vehicle another 8 years.

66k miles and you're replacing things like that already?

Tie rods on S197s are a pretty common problem. Those and strut mounts you can count on needing before 100k miles.

"Performance" tie rods and end links. Hm. Curious what those are like 😉

They say Moog on the box.

Srsly OP, get Moog and don't go oem or whatever crap a parts house tries to sell you. The Moog ones are way overbuilt as compared to the oem style that goes out too easy.

I would never put less than OEM on my car. Dealerparts or performance parts from a reputable company.

Also, I thought the strut mount problem was taken care of in 2006. There was a TSB on them and I had mine replaced.

I wouldn't even go motorcraft/dealer for the tie rods, they just don't hold up.

I didn't even think about the tsb, I'm just so used to seeing ones that I guess haven't had it. Too bad you had it fixed, coulda been the perfect excuse for some koni/steedas with steeda camber plates to 'fix' the problem.
