My car has 35K miles.... *CAR EXPERTS*

I only got oil changes and a minor 7-10K tune up that I paid $70~ for wayy long ago.

Instead of helplessly asking the potentially suspicious dealers, my fellow ATOTers can tell me what needs to be done, what's a good reasonable price, and so on.

1. I definitely need new tires, my car glides everywhere even at the slightest wetness.
2. Flushing fluids and stuff, is it worth it? Does it make a real diff. outside of placebo?
3. What else do I need badly?

Thanks. 🙂

Oh yea, the car is offically 24 months old today.

1. Tell us what kind of car you have.

EDIT:

1. You probably need a new set of tires, not just one tire.
2. Flushing is not just a placebo, you need to change fluids because the original ones get dirty (i.e. loaded up with crap you don't want)
3. Check the maintenance schedule for your car in your owners' manual. You have read the owners' manual, right?

I agree with the others - its best to check the owner's manual.
At 30K miles, I changed motor oil/oil filter, automatic transmission fluid (just a drain and fill), and changed the air filter for my Altima.

I don't think Tanny fluids need to be changed till 50K plus, they're a bitch to change IMO.
Fuel filter maybe? I know on a '99 Sonoma I had they said fuel filter @ like 35-40K
Maybe air filter?
Basically check the fluids yourself. If your tranny fluid starts to lose its red/pink color, change it. If your air filter looks dirt, either blow it out w/compressed air (carefully of course) or change it (~$10-15 for regular paper air filter). Check spark plugs; if they look dirt or corroded, change. Pretty simple

I was surprised to see that on my engine, the plugs are supposed to be due for a replacement at 30k. I'm going to check them first, but that's a cheap enough job that I might just go ahead and do it anyway. Air filter and tire rotation may be called for as well.

Exactly, it differes for almost every single car.

Might want to check up on the brakes tho, never a bad thing to do.

It most likely needs you to read the manual. It will tell you at what intervals certain maintenence should be performed.
